winners! and round 3

Again, 6 comments on my last destash post, and another roll of the dice came up with 3 and 5. Congratulations, Jess and Naycha! I'm madtownmama on Ravelry, so PM me with your address, and I'll get your yarn sent off in the next couple of days.

It's really fun reading everyone's comments. I should do this more often. Ready for the third and (for now) final destash round?

First up, more Valley Yarn Superwash DK, again nearly three skeins. The color is a dark brown (not quite as dark as in the photo - I would say the picture on the WEBS website is quite accurate). I have this leftover from this sweater I made for Anya. She loved it and wore it often before she outgrew it and we passed it on to someone else.

Next, three skeins of elann.com 100% bamboo. One is missing the label, but it's all there. (I have no idea why I bought it, especially this color. I think I must have been on a sugar rush and gone to the elann.com website or something. Fortunately, that doesn't happen often.) It's a deep coral, lovely on some people, but completely and totally wrong for me. I think I meant it to be a gift for someone, but I don't even remember what or for whom. It's fingering weight, nice and silky feeling. This would make a lovely warm-weather scarf or baby tank top or...I don't know...whatever you like, I guess!

To enter, leave a comment answering the following question: Who is your favorite person to knit for? I'll pick winners around 9pm CST Thursday evening so I can get all the yarn from the destash posts sent out on Friday. Aaaaand GO!

My favorite person to knit for is my friend Farah, who oohs over everything I've ever given her -- fingerless mitts, a cowl, a hat -- and models it all proudly, telling everyone "My friend Kim made this for me!"

I haven't commented before, but for this question, I have a clear answer. My husband's grandma is so appreciative. I've only made her a shawl (Piper's Journey) but made her a lapquilt which she always mentions using, genuinely. She has everything she needs, so a gift from the heart (and created by hands) is warmly received.

Am I allowed to say me? I make lots of stuff for the kids and stuff for my family, but ultimately, I really love it when someone compliments me on something I'm wearing and I can say, "Thanks, I made it." I know I'm terrible.

My favorite people to knit for are my nieces and nephew. The girls so far really like hand made gifts and babies look cute in everything. Although knitting for myself is a close second.

I really like the bamboo yarn. I think it is nice to sometimes push yourself out of your normal color comfort zone, even if it feels like a mistake later.

Love that brown and the sheen on that coral is nice too.

I love to knit for my daughter, my husband and my mom. My mom is the most appreciative because she is an artist/crafter/knitter/and anything creative you can think of, so she understands the work and love that goes into knitting. Not that my husband and daughter aren't appreciative, but you know how it goes.

Oh, and I'm so happy I won yesterdays giveaway! I'll PM you shortly.

Ooh, I'd love to try the superwash! Honestly, my favorite person to knit for is my mom. She is just so appreciative of handknits! She wore the aqua Shalom I knit for her on Christmas Eve and looked just beautiful.

My favorite person to knit for is my friend Frosty (nickname). I made him socks for Christmas and he loved them so much. I know that anything I made for him, he will truly treasure.
